Agora Gallery is pleased to announce Turn a Leaf, an exhibition focused on finding newness and inspiration from observations and experiences of the everyday.

Turn a Leaf includes the work of ten artists, from all around the world represented by Agora Gallery. Artists Marianne Durach and Caspar Baum contribute abstract paintings inspired by human emotion and architecture respectively. Natalia Chaplin and Lliam Greguez are both artists who implement a mixture of abstraction and natural landscape in their own respective mediums. While New York City artist Stephanie Pitoy collages text and images from her city environment. Similarly, William Atkinson uses methods of collage to express cultural critique though text and gestural painting. Also inspired by his home, Brazilian photographer Roberto Silva’s artwork depicts bodies in active poses against beautiful landscapes and scenery. Photographer Marshall Gould turns to horses as his main subject matter, in black and white photographs that highlight the beauty. In addition, the show features figurative and portraiture artwork which takes on highly stylized forms of paintings by Katha B and Nick Bautista. This combination of artists represents a range of subject matter, mediums, and scale. Ideas of movement, space, and point of view are particularly explored throughout the artworks in this Show.

Each artist included in Turn a Leaf contributes a distinct style of expression that encourages audience members to look at the world around them in new ways, and perhaps notice something they had never noticed before.

Turn a Leaf is opening Tuesday, September 1, 2020, and will be on exhibit until Tuesday, September 22, 2020. There will be an opening reception Thursday, September 10, 2020, 6-8 PM Located at 530 West 25th St., Agora Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 AM – 6 PM.
