A collection of nine works that translate the knowledge and strength needed to overcome the basic challenges neophytes will face in NYC. Knudsen’s work is categorized in the press as surreal feminism: “I want to draw people out of their everyday lives and tune them into mythos, history and symbolism. I aim to demystify arcane ideologies. I exist to make ancient wisdom and hidden knowledge accessible to the modern, digital and rapidly-advancing technical world.”

These works started with concept sketches, done in pencil, then scanned. The artist reviews the colors created on the pixel level by the light. “Interesting things happen to the metal in lead when light passes through it. As humanity moves more into the digital realm - how we look at the world is forever changed, light is coming through the images on our screens. This transmutation of light is a second central theme running through this work. How to capture the modernity of digital light with the most classic of art mediums: oil.”
