MyMicroGallery is pleased to present “Dealing with the Gaze”, a group exhibition featuring works from abstract to representation from eight artists hailing from countries across the world including Italy, Switzerland and New Zealand. The artists come from diverse backgrounds and have experience in various mediums including painting, collage and photography.

Organized and curated by Stefania Carrozzini, gallerist and independent curator based in Milan, this show’s concept offers the opportunity to reflect on ‘the gaze’ not only as a representation, but as an extension to different variations of interiority and, like a reference in a mirror, leads to ‘the gaze’ of the spectator and his or her interpretation of the work. And thus, it is the work that becomes the emotional field, where different energies converge, and a significant platform of reality transcends up to a spiritual dimension. From a nominal form, ‘the gaze’ is understood here beyond its narration and representation up to the symbolic form.

The eye sees in relation to its connection to the world as it is a reflection of the soul, which speaks, implores, testifies, and seduces us. It circumscribes space by mediating the exchange between reality and imagination. It is life itself in a form that makes it more relevant, which is ‘communication.’ Our time requires a deeper and integrated immersion with respect to traditional artistic practices. The lack of attention and modernity are supplanted by a need to be more connected to the reality that surrounds us.

This compilation of works forces us to think of ‘the eye’ as something that writes and describes and that meets, speaks and reflects all worlds, exploring the poetic depth of the self and touching on the territory of the invisible.
