Could it be that art - fundamentally rooted as it is in a sensuous, material presence- is also partially designed to bring light to the meaning and truth of material reality itself and its distinctive way of being? Could it be that part of art’s significance lies in its ways of putting us in touch with the nature and meaning of materiality in its own right, exploring the relationship between materiality and meaning in innovative ways?

The artists featured in Peninsula’s latest three-person exhibition, Offset Registers, are diverse in their approaches. Yet, they share a common fascination with the structure and organization of forms, emphasizing the poetic dimension of construction and its ability to manifest cultural and artistic values.Their artworks, which could be considered a kind of “manual rendering,” combine the plasticity of the gesture with a composition that grants them their own artistic identity, without losing their essential purpose: to communicate something that goes beyond the visual and delves into the emotional, conceptual, and material realms.
