Best World Gallery is pleased to present Ember City, an exhibition of recent collaborative works from the artists Roycer and Matt Siren. The exhibition includes paintings and woodcuts, as well as neon works by the artists.

Ember City highlights Roycer and Siren’s long engagement working at the intersection of fine and street art, creating a city of characters that are the fading sparks of past emotions, living in the post apocalyptic remains from the fire.

Roycer is a born and bred Harlem artist whose infamous Monsters, instantly recognizable with their emotive eyes and often, razor sharp teeth, can be seen pasted on doors and walls throughout the five boroughs. His recent Ghost series melds contemporary American Folk Art with the aesthetics of the street. As a member of the street art collective, Endless Love Crew, Roycer has participated in various collaborative live paintings, group art shows, and solo art shows throughout New York and the world. On any given day you can find him painting monsters, silk-screening t-shirts, spraying stencils, or slapping stickers up on various spots in New York.

Matt Siren originates from Queens, NY. His art is heavily stimulated by images from the 1980's cartoons, video games, graffiti, heavy metal cd covers and posters in the Art Nouveau style, pinup and the emergence of modern day (computer generated) graphic design & branding. His work is iconic - both clean and gritty, using clean lines over textural backgrounds. In 2005, he created “Ghost Girl” as his signature icon in representing his current work. Siren's work can been seen in clothing lines by Better Days Clothing, skateboards by Reciprocal Skateboards, RoyalFlush Magazine, and other special projects in the NYC area.

Best World Gallery is a mixed use project space dedicated to the intersection of art, music, and culture. Michael Quiros opened the gallery in Mid-Summer 2017 with the mission to help artists grow organically, and has so far engaged in this mission to cross-pollinate lifestyle content and culture with exhibitions such as Plus 1, Fight Night, Sneaker Head, and Lost Paradise.
