Humans Of The Earth (HOTE) Gallery  is proud to present Fragility, a solo exhibit of new works by renowned artist Ann Phong.

Phong gauges the scale of the man-made destruction plaguing the lands and the oceans.  In her multi-layered paintings, the use of discarded objects is intentionally linked to the environmental issues facing humanity in our times.

Phong states : "Having seen many cities with a beautiful living environment, it’s painful to witness some other areas that are damaged by the human habitat. It seems like the more convenience we seek in our lives, the more trash we create... To obtain a peaceful life, one first needs to make peace with the earth." Her work is masterfully executed, serving as an unwavering alarm while presenting disastrous realities from cityscape to heavily polluted large bodies of water.

Ann Phong received her MFA in painting from California State University, Fullerton in 1995, and has actively participated in over 150 solo and group shows in galleries and museums. She has been exhibited extensively around the world, and her artwork is part of prestigious public and numerous private collections including the UC Riverside Sweeney Museum, and the Karbi Museum in Thailand.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday January 9th, from 7 to 9pm

at Humans Of The Earth (HOTE) Gallery at 2407 W. Hellman Ave, 91083
