Carla Baratta and Michael Ornstein present a very special two day exhibition, Puro y Sin Nombre, to raise money for Karttos International, a foundation with the goal of helping the most vulnerable in Venezuela. Carla and Michael met while acting on the FX Networks television series Mayans M.C., discovering a mutual love and respect for each other’s art.

Puro y Sin Nombre, to be pure and nameless, is the idea that art speaks for itself. Names, labels, text, it all skews a visual medium away from the core of what a work of art is. 

The works selected for Puro y Sin Nombre are intimate portraits, approached by each artist with their uniquely fluid styles. Carla’s work is a walk of intuition, a melding of intricate linework and swatches of bright colors, guiding the way to self discovery and exploration. Michael’s paintings are brightly colored works that explode onto the plastic sheeting he uses as canvas; not only do they change with the lighting, but with the ever-evolving state of the viewers, from moment to moment. The two artists together create an invitation to come and be present, free from judgement, purely in the moment.

A portion of proceeds from the sale of all works in Puro y Sin Nombre will go to benefit Karttos International, a foundation with the goal of helping the most vulnerable in Venezuela, lending a helping hand to end the need of basic necessities, ending hunger and above all offering its supportive hand to citizens of Venezuela

Puro y Sin Nombre will be on view for two days only at Mana'o Tattoo Los Angeles located at 11144 Ventura Blvd in Studio City, beginning with an invitation only VIP preview night on March 29th, 2019 from 7pm - 10pm and a day open to the public on March 30th, 2019 from 12pm - 10pm.
