Date:
Saturday, 4 November 2017 to Sunday, 5 November 2017

Drawn to the clean lines, bright colors and accessibility of comic books, cartoons and video games, Matt Gondek’s skill lies in his ability to replicate the clean, graphic style of digital illustration in his paintings. A self–taught artist, Gondek’s creedo is, “Figure it out as you go along.”

Now a well-established international artist, Gondek truly has figured it out, with large mural commissions pouring in from around the globe in recent years. He has had many successful gallery shows across the US as well as in Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UK.

For ComplexCon 2017, Gondek will be teaming up with the streetwear brand FUN to perform a four-hour live drawing session, allowing attendees at the Long Beach Convention Centre a rare chance to visit his world in person.

Gondek is releasing a first four foot vinyl figure at Art Basel Miami in December, and is planning a solo exhibit in Hong Kong in 2018.

FUN is a streetwear brand founded in Singapore in 1985. It is now designed and created in Xiamen (Amoy), China, known for its colourful collaborations with artists and other brands. FUN is showing at ComplexCon at booth K8.

ComplexCon is an annual celebration of global street culture held in Long Beach.
