CHICAGO (May 12, 2014) – Documentation of The Renaissance Society’s current exhibition, a solo show of new work by Christina Mackie titled Colour Drop,  is now available.  Images can be downloaded here.  The exhibition will be on view through June 29, 2014.This exhibition is co-curated by Solveig Øvstebø and Hamza Walker and is the London-based Canadian artist’s first institutional exhibition in the United States.

Christina Mackie (b 1956) is a Canadian artist that lives and works in London. Recent solo exhibitions include The Judges III, Nottingham Castle Museum (2013); Painting the Weights, Chisenhale Gallery, London; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2012); Us, Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne (2010); The Judges, Supportico Lopez, Berlin (2010); This That and The Other, Herald Street, London (2007) and Art Now Sculpture Court, Tate Britain (2007).

 

Founded in 1915, the Renaissance Society is a non-collecting museum of contemporary art. It is committed to supporting artists through the commissioning of new work and the production of solo and thematic exhibitions, publications, and interdisciplinary education programs. All programs are admission-free and open to the public.

 

The Renaissance Society is located on the campus of the University of Chicago, in Cobb Hall, on the fourth floor. It is open Tuesday toFriday from 10am to 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5pm.  Admission is free. Visit www.renaissancesociety.org to learn more about the exhibitions and events.
