"Place to Get Red Carpet Ready"  studio.

Combining art and beauty, Makeup Mandy will showcase the artwork of Los Angeles artist Judy Ragagli, known for her realistic oil paintings of nostalgic Barbie.  Makeup Mandy, voted Best Beauty destination in Los Angeles and TV Guide Network stated, it is "The Place to Get Red Carpet Ready."   Helmed by Hollywood's top celebrity makeup artist, Amanda Jacobellis, Makeup Mandy captures the Hollywood glamour revolutionizing the beauty business.  Judy states, "I am extremely excited and thrilled to be showcasing my Barbie artwork at a destination Barbie would certainly be at home.  Makeup Mandy truly is, "The One Stop Shop for Glam!"

  According to Judy, "my  Barbie paintings invite the viewer to take a journey through time and fashion, beginning with Barbie's spectacular debut in 1959 as the ultimate fashion model.  Judy's always been fascinated by the iconic doll.  "I have always loved nostalgic Barbie and her mystique of elegance and sophistication.  I see her as possessing a soul and positive spirit; her true persona extends beyond the plastic facade,"  Judy says.  "Barbie represents and contains knowledge of culture and society.  She is more significant than an object for child's play -- she is an indicator of trends, a marker of historical eras, and a positive role model for the past, present and future."

Judy's goal, she explains, is to pay homage to this surviving icon of modernity, femininity and style.  "I want my viewers to recognize Barbie as an important and positive influence within American society on both the individual and aggregate levels," she notes.   By presenting Barbie through portraiture, Judy's aim is to create a vision of Barbie that is still and noble.  I strive to elicit veneration for Barbie's legacy while painting a mark of beauty and grace into the world."
