Artist's Statement
I paint to share the way I see the world—through light, quiet moments, and the subtle relationships between objects and space. Ordinary scenes inspire me: sunlight across a countertop, a door left slightly open, the atmosphere of a room. Working primarily in oil, I build my paintings in layered transparencies that allow earlier tones to vibrate through the surface. My work shifts as I explore new subjects, but a sense of serenity remains constant. Painting is my way of shaping the forces around me into something cohesive, reflective, and human.
