Amy Hewitt’s practice is concerned primarily with sculpture, performance and narrative. Her work focuses upon invoking the Other through the application of the Monstrous, the Abject and the Uncanny. She engages with phenomenology of the internal and external via the investigation of surface; with a fascination for what lies outside – beyond standard perception, cognition and experience. Her work aims to give a physical form to the narrative that underpins her practice. Through a process of intuitive making Hewitt binds disparate material into otherworldly forms. Hewitt graduated with an MA in Fine Art from the University of Lincoln 2016.
