This workshop will enable you to hand stitch your very own animal. Working from the image you take to the workshop you will be able to recreate this using the delicate art of hand stitch. Please be sure to bring an image of the animal you wish to work from. This needs to be clear, in colour and enlarged if not, simply email to info@thesteelrooms.com and we can alter the image for your use at the workshop.
There will be the option to applique, stitch and paint on to the material. This workshop is appropriate for complete beginners and can be as complicated or as simple as you’d like to make it.
All materials are included in the workshop but if you have any materials / bits you’d like to use, please do bring them along.
Since graduating in Fine & Applied Art in 2012 Jo has been chosen as an Embroiderers Guild Scholar and is a member of two contemporary textile groups – Prism and Eleven. Jo’s work has been published in two books and she is now a fashion and textile tutor based in North East Lincolnshire.
Jo more recently won 2nd prize at 20-21’s Open exhibition in 2016 and 1st prize at The Steel Room’s open exhibition 2014. Jo continues to exhibit her work throughout the country and remains the resident artist at Grimsby School of Art, Grimsby.
