Man Ray was born Emmanuel Radnitzky in1890 to a Russian-Jewish immigrant family in Philadelphia.
His extraordinary life and milieu included the greats of 20th century artists across the USA and Europe. He was a notable part of the great 20th century experimental art movements from Dada to Cubism to Surrealism.
Ben Uri are honoured to welcome Man Ray's personal attorney and great friend Lewis Kruger who will share the untold stories of the artist's life and challenges.
Lewis is the Chairman Emeritus of the Museum of Art and Design in New York and with his wife, the distinguished curator Laura Kruger, has dedicated great energies to supporting design and the visual arts in New York.
