YOUR LIFE DURING WW3 by Marcel Darienzo is a durational 4 hours performance piece, comprising of live action, dance, sound, video and text-based works as an installation in the gallery.

With a single performer, YOUR LIFE DURING WW3 is a monologue, borrowing voices from various characters and situations from Hamlet to rooftop bar sunset parties, from relaxation techniques to post-capitalist theories and collapsism. Through these so-called 'simulations', the piece destabilises the idea of a central thread, and eventually the central figure, and instead highlights the infrastructure around it, and perhaps most importantly the role of the audience in the situation. "THE I’ HAVE BEEN KILLED, THERE IS ONLY ‘THE YOU’ LEFT BITCH."

Artist ( Description ):

Marcel Darienzo (São Paulo, Brazil) lives between London and São Paulo. He graduated from MFA Fine ArT course at Goldsmiths College, London in 2017, and completed his BA in Fine Arts at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP), São Paulo, Brazil in 2014.

Thinking through the infrastructures conditioning the body in the contemporary, he explores the intersections between the visual arts, theatre, dance, performance, video and music. What he calls simulation encompasses a set of interventions in the exhibition space. He produces works that “are ideological containers to be moved and forged by the viewer’s own values, ideas and imagination". Recent appearances in London include Le Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde, Assembly Point; In Formation, ICA; MFA Degree Show, Goldsmiths College; PROMO DEMO TRAILER TEASER, Enclave Lab and Ten Days Six Nights, Tate Modern.
