Teddington Unlocked, an art exhibition capturing the beautiful landscapes and scenes of the Richmond area by some of the brightest and best local artists, is being staged at Teddington Riverside – a collection of new homes for sale in one of the most coveted locations overlooking the Thames.
Teddington Unlocked launches on Saturday 1st October from 12 noon to 3pm, with a curator’s tour at 2pm. The exhibition brings together a collection of affordable art – paintings and drawings depicting riverscapes, street scenes, wildlife and Thameside meadows, as well as sculptures and figurative works. The exhibition is being curated by Catherine Sweet of BobCat Gallery and organised in association with Arts Richmond, which will receive 10 per cent of profits from art sold at the exhibition.
The exhibition will be hosted in one of the apartments at Teddington Riverside, in a stunning space overlooking Teddington Lock. The development is an exquisite collection of apartments and townhouses for sale, set in beautiful, landscaped private grounds of 4.5 acres next to the River Thames, with homes ready to move into.
Eugenie Ropner, Head of Sales and Marketing at Teddington Riverside, said: “Teddington and the wider Richmond area feature so many wonderful landscapes and river views, historic street scenes and the wide open spaces of the Royal Parks at Bushy Park and Richmond Park. We want to celebrate this very special area through our art exhibition, Teddington Unlocked. The area has a long tradition of attracting many great artists such as Turner, Gainsborough, and Constable, and continues to have a thriving artistic and cultural scene which can be seen by the outstanding works being exhibited at the show.”
Eugenie added: “Teddington Riverside has an incredible setting and we want to ensure that as many local people as possible have the opportunity to visit us and appreciate the art and the location.”
Exhibition curator Catherine Sweet, of BobCat Gallery, said: “I am delighted to work with Teddington Riverside to bring together such a fantastic collection of artwork from talented local artists, and in such a beautiful location. This show features a diverse and lively selection of techniques and subjects inspired by the local area, and all work is available for sale. Sales will benefit the work of Arts Richmond, championing arts and culture for all across the borough and beyond.”
