The exhibition offers a glimpse into the variety of artistic practice that is part of the community around the Elephant & Castle area of London. From Sonia Martin's enigmatic figurative paintings to Frank Bowling's large and now famous abstract works, the exhibition highlights themes running through painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. The exhibition brings together and celebrates the work of seven artists with distinct perspectives : the artists demonstrate very particular approaches through their chosen medium and, as such, they can complement and challenge each other while questioning notions of a consistent narrative/common ground.
