Lovers: A solo show of stranger intimacy on black and white photographic film by photographer Roxy Hervé.
For her first major project, started two years ago and entitled 'Lovers', French photographer Roxy Hervé explores the unity between bodies, shapes and hidden moments. For this project, she gets herself invited into strangers' homes to photograph lovers in their intimacy; in this case into the homes of East Londoners. The lovers who participate in this project are from diverse backgrounds - different in terms of age, ethnicality, sexuality and forms of relationship. By deciding to shoot any type of lover, Roxy Herve aims to bring unity among and between them. Her imagery presents and shows body shapes that every lover reveals to each other during moments of intimacy. There is nothing pornographic about these artistic photographs; the artist sees that it's more about the positions and merging of whole bodies rather than specific parts.

Artist:
Roxy Herve is a French fine art and editorial documentary photographer based in London. She started exploring photography a few years after she graduated from Central Saint Martins, where she studied Fine Arts. She explores the human form and its environment, usually using the body as a shape rather then a gendered object. As part of a two-year long project (so far), ‘Lovers’, she made a recent call in the Hackney Wick Locals Facebook Group for couples to take part.
