The London Ultra is a new experimental exhibition format that brings together artists and performers working across a multitude of disciplines in an art extravaganza at London's iconic Bargehouse.

Visitors are invited to discover a multi-sensory spectacular of artists' showcases encompassing styles ranging from traditional to eccentric, conceptual to accidental and from minimalist compositions to opulent installations and intriguing abstractions.

Artists from London, across the UK and further afield responded to an open call to show their current work at this 4-day event. Paintings, sculpture, collage and photography are carefully grouped in curated sections, including an Otherworldly Room and the Attica Luminarti, deliberately breaking with conventional definitions and themes.

Highlights include various premieres alongside that of Noble Nonsense by Nobody. Rachael Louise Bailey's Global was last seen floating off the Kent Coast as part of the Whitstable Biennial earlier this year and has now worked it's way up the Thames. Sculptor Richard Farrington will be showing in London for the first time for forty years!

The London Ultra @ The Barghouse is presented by FPS 2018 Open Exhibition Team, an artist-led organisation dedicated to creating the necessary networks for artistic exchange, exposure and sales opportunities, and ultimately sustainability. Three cash prizes will be awarded on the Preview Night on 6 December to the most imaginative entries.

About FPS: Established in 1952, FPS was originally associated with the ICA and played a significant role in the establishment of abstract art and other post-war movements that freed artists from the orthodoxy of rigid and purely technical judgement. This ethos continues today with FPS encouraging artists to create work on their own terms.
