Eternal Sunshine: exhibition by east London artist Charlotte Archer with special guest DJs Route 94 and Jess Bays, 3rd - 4th December

East London artist Charlotte Archer is to host ‘Eternal Sunshine’, an exhibition showcasing her new autobiographical artworks, which depict ‘the challenges of being human’. The two-day exhibition runs from 3rd - 4th December and will be accompanied by special guest DJs including Route 94 and Jess Bays.

Previously, Charlotte has drawn inspiration from her favourite musicians for many of her oil and acrylic portraits: from hip hop and house music to disco and soul. Her back catalogue of original paintings of musicians including Prince, Notorious B.I.G, Wiley, Mike Skinner, Skinnyman, Andre 3000, Tupac, Nina Simone, Stevie Nicks, Erykah Badu and Dizzee Rascal, will be on show and available to purchase at the Eternal Sunshine exhibition.

Taking place in Stoke Newington, Eternal Sunshine marks a fresh artistic direction for Charlotte as we see a more surreal style in her abstract paintings. The collection seeks to highlight the depth, beauty, and complexity of being human and is a blurred line between surreal, abstract, figurative, and psychedelic, with each piece featuring a face. The ‘beings’ she paints are often autobiographical but can remind us of ourselves with each mood and expression telling a story of life’s ups and downs.

The show will feature live music from special guest DJs on both days:

Friday is garage night with DJ Mighty Moe from Heartless Crew, Normski and MC Creed performing alongside Norris Da Boss Windross in an old skool garage set.

Saturday is house night with number one artist Route 94 playing alongside Capital Dance radio host Jess Bays and godfather of UK garage Norris Da Boss Windross.

Tickets cost £5.00 and can be used as a £5.00 voucher towards the purchase of any artwork on the night (this includes prints, t-shirts and stickers as well as original art).

This is the third solo London exhibition for Charlotte Archer after selling out two previous shows in Soho and Brick Lane.

Charlotte Archer said: “Having been based in Barcelona and Ibiza for a number of years, I’m incredibly excited to be back in my hometown of London showcasing my new collection. It is a very personal exhibition for me as the figurative faces I am painting are all autobiographical and are depictions of emotions that I have felt and stories that relate to myself and my own experiences. I am really looking forward to seeing how the new collection is received.”

All pieces in the collection will be available to purchase on the night.
