OR HIS FIRST SOLO EXHIBITION IN OVER FIVE YEARS, LEE EELUS HAS RETURNED WITH A NOVEL BODY OF WORK INSPIRED BY HIS RECENT ADHD AND DYSLEXIA DIAGNOSIS AT THE AGE OF FORTY-THREE.

Expanding on his already diverse and sprawling oeuvre, ‘DISORDER’ features numerous artworks which explore personal struggles, as Eelus is forced to come to terms with years of undiagnosed neurodivergence. The gallery opening event for this exhibition will take place on the 6th April, from 6.30 - 8.30pm. Please do feel free to come along - this event is open to members of the public. The paintings on display feature innovative techniques, layering acrylic with spray paint and oil stick elements, in a magnificent display of creative confidence. Eelus’ new aesthetic style has developed from his earlier stencil works that made him an influential name in London’s urban art scene in the mid 2000s. Eelus has exhibited in international exhibitions alongside key figures of the contemporary urban art movement, with the iconic Banksy being but one of them. The desirability of his work is evident in the success of his solo exhibitions and sell-out print editions, which have cemented his presence on collectors lists and established Eelus as an accomplished name within urban art.

Artist ( Description ):

Combining seemingly disparate elements from a wide range of found imagery taken from pop culture, film, graphic design and art history, Eelus's strange and colourful visual language is applied to paintings, prints, murals and 3D work, all of it in search for a sense of balance as he brings opposing forces together, exploring the relationships between light and dark, humour and the macabre and beauty in the mundane.

He's painted and exhibited worldwide alongside key figures within the urban contemporary movement, the desirability of his work evident in the success of his solo exhibitions and sell-out print editions.

He currently lives beside the sea in Brighton, UK, with his partner, their daughter, two cats and Arty the dog.
