Popular Italian contemporary artist, Marco Grassi, will début his newest artworks in a solo exhibition titled 'Mama Raised Me Right', at HOFA’s new flagship Mayfair gallery on Bruton Street, from 22 July to 5 August 2020. Due to the resounding success of HOFA’s virtual art programme throughout the pandemic the show will be digitally twinned with a complementary virtual exhibition, using in-house bespoke 360degree photo scanning techniques.

‘Mama Raised Me Right’ will be the first exhibition to physically take place at the gallery since the lockdown began. HOFA has had tremendous success with their new series of virtual art experiences, which were launched in April 2020, and are keen to continue to engage art lovers who physically cannot attend their shows. So far, over 150k have tuned in across the globe to see immersive exhibitions such as Zhuang Hong Yi’s ‘Nova’, the group show, ‘Here & Now’, where all proceeds from the sale of Bran Symondson and Terry O’Neill’s work, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil (2019), were donated to the NHS, and the ‘Myth-Making’ group exhibition which runs virtually until 16 July.

To create the virtual part of ‘Mama Raised Me Right’ original artwork images are scanned in layer by layer to recreate the works in full 3D, giving the most advance experience possible.  Virtual visitors can select the VR mode for VR goggles and using the compass when viewing on a mobile actually move around the exhibition.  All set in a stunning background of HOFA’s ‘virtual gallery’ space.

Marco Grassi’s distinctive fusion of realism and surrealism comes to life in figurative portraits of real women whose personalities and passion are his true subjects. His art pays tribute to the intense emotional experiences of his models in the moment when he captures them, and he recreates this emotional intensity through gentle, shimmering colours that blend outwards. In his latest works in which he explores round canvases measuring 150cm and 200cm in diameter incorporating bold gold and silver leaf backgrounds.

Grassi, commenting on his forthcoming solo exhibition said, "I am truly delighted that my solo exhibition will take place soon in London, things have felt so uncertain for a long time. For me, touching people’s lives through art is what matters most, so I hope, in some small way, it lifts spirits and brings the art community together this summer as hopefully we get back to life.”

Co-Founder of HOFA Gallery Elio D’Anna said “The art industry will undoubtedly changed through this experience we have all been through.  We are delighted to be welcoming people back to the gallery, but by bridging the gap between the real and digital world, we’re paving the way way art to be enjoyed and experienced for people who can’t be there in person. It has opened up exhibition to many more people than normal, and on a global scale.”

‘Mama Raised Me Right’ will run for two weeks from 22 July to 5 August HOFA Gallery, London and will be accessible via a secure link.
