The Brick Lane Gallery is proud to present Art in Mind; Sound of Silence. Introducing artists from across the globe, who explore a wide range of artistic expressions, the exhibition aims to expose these artists’ interpretations offering an alternative viewpoint. From sculpture to collage, each piece speaks to the viewer in a different way, bringing together new ideas and collaborating the traditional and the contemporary, breaking the boundaries of our perceptions of Fine Art.
One of the exhibiting artists, Luci Geromel views herself as a performer. Her aim is to create a bond between her work and the audience through her films by acting upon social issues that interest her. By combining the sole presence of the female figure and the use of suggestive body movement in her films, she questions the position of women in a society where we are force-fed new notions of beauty. Gregor Becker currently lives and works in Soriano nel Cimin, Italy and Freiburg, and Germany. After experiencing the traditional painting techniques, dissatisfied with the relationship between the "language" and the transmitted "message", invents a new way to express his art at the fullest. It is a personal technique in which "weaves" of hand-colored, hand-cut paper stripes and chips are placed together with other materials on a specially prepared support.
You are warmly welcome to join us for a drink with the artists at the opening night of ART IN MIND at The Brick Lane Gallery-The Annexe open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 26th October 2016.
