Priscilla Fowler Fine Art is proud to announce that one of its artists, Diane Bush, has been selected to show her artwork in the MEM Experimental Art Festival in Bilbao Spain. The festival, now in its 15th year, is known for the performing arts, but visual art is also an important component. This year, curator Txema Agiriano chose six female artists to show a diverse range of media, to be exhibited at the Saleana Cultural Center. The exhibit, “Visions”, will run from November 9 through November 30, just a few days shorter than the month-long festival. Other artists include Bostonian Heather Kaplow, and the very accomplished Ixone Dadaba, from London.
On display will be a fiber art piece by Ms. Bush that was exhibited in L.A. earlier this year, as part of a gender diversity festival on Hollywood Blvd. Ms. Bush yarn-bombed a tree outside the Los Angeles Contemporary Art Exhibition space with string of banners made out of hand spun pussy-cat fur yarn and patriotic ribbons, in the shape of merkins. The work, titled, “Make a Merkin Great Again” is a satirical play on words which refers to our president’s penchant for physically harassing women without their consent.
Says the artist: “I was surprised how this instance of impropriety by our president was so well known and I am pleased to have been chosen to show my work with such important artists.” Ms. Bush is traveling to Bilbao to experience the festival and to attend the gallery closing.

Diane Bush is a photographer and fiber artist based in Las Vegas, NV, who is well regarded for her satirical art. She holds an MFA in Photography from the State University of New York in Buffalo, NY. She has exhibited widely across the US and internationally.
