Documenta 14 and Venice Biennale, do they reflect the present or past? What should we learn beyond official mottos and messages communicated through the curatorial strategies? Could we consider the force of the most powerful global art events as the avant-garde force?
The exhibition 'Always Question the Structure' challenges the structure of big cultural managed events, documents and eventually evaluates them through ultracontemporary artworks. While other artists display their artworks defined and produced for Documenta 14 and Venice Biennale in advance, the artist Thierry Geoffroy sees Sabsay's space as a headquarter for the questioning of the big scaled structures and institutions by changing the exhibition throughout the show.
We invite you to join the artist's presentation of Thierry Geoffroy where he will share his perspective of ultracontemporary art, point out main conclusions after his participation in Documenta 14 and Venice Biennale 2017 and hold a guided tour of the show.
