Tuesday 4 March at 7.00 pm Lattuada Gallery inaugurates the personal exhibition of Ben Vautier, a recently deceased French artist, which will remain open until April 2025 at the headquarters in Via Senato 15, Milan.
A leading artist of the Fluxus movement, Ben Vautier (Naples, 1935 – Nice, 5 June 2024) has always worked with the aim of challenging artistic conventions in a provocative and playful way. His research aims to deconstruct the art object, stripping it not only of its image but also of the implicit conventions that accompany it. Written language represents a key element of his poetics: incisive phrases, often created in childish calligraphy on monochrome surfaces, have become one of the most recognizable expressions of contemporary art.
