At The Circle in Gorizia, The Matter Loop – Il ciclo della materia, curated by Vincenzo Alessandria, explores the relationship between industrial production and artistic research through the lens of circular economy in contemporary art.

The project promoted by Qui Altrove cultural association ETS, brings together four artists – Giulia Maria Belli, Nicola Facchini, Anna Marzuttini and Kristian Sturi – and four companies from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, creating a shared process where waste materials become the starting point for new artistic forms.

Textiles, metals, organic residues and technological components are not simply reused, but reinterpreted. Their industrial origins remain visible, turning each work into a space where memory, transformation and material history coexist.

Rather than presenting sustainability as a theme, The Matter Loop adopts it as a method. Artists engage directly with production processes, transforming discarded materials without erasing their past.

The project offers a concrete example of how circular economy in contemporary art can generate new perspectives, where creativity and industry intersect to rethink the value of materials and production.
