Solo exhibition by British artist John Vere-Hodge (b. 1950, Tanzania) at the Galleria Civica G. B. Bosio in Desenzano del Garda (public museum) from 21 February - 8 March 2026 on the theme of "Alberi - radici profonde, rami e fioriture tardive" ("Trees - deep roots, branches and late blossom"). Some 40 artworks, including oil on canvas, oil on panel, oil on cardboard and sculptures.

John Vere-Hodge is a British artist, painter and sculptor based in northern Italy. He was born in 1950 in Tanzania and has worked as an artist since the 1960s. Throughout his life, he has both exhibited and sold his works on commission. For his paintings, John produces his own media, which he mixes with pigment. He avoids using tube paints or artificial ingredients, but follows ancient techniques.
John has produced countless drawings, sketches and sculptures. He has worked on several large-scale murals for private collectors’ homes, for businesses in the hospitality and healthcare sectors and for public museums across Europe. He has illustrated numerous books.
John has lectured widely at universities and fine art institutions throughout Europe.
