"You´d better shoot the robot first" ist eine Kritik an der Robotisierung der Menschheit, der künstlichen Intelligenz und der Digitalisierung. Der Roboter ersetzt das Individuum. Das kann weitreichende Folgen nach sich ziehen wie Arbeitslosigkeit, Isolation und digitale Kriege: Dramatische Auswirkungen, die unsere Demo-kratie gefährden. Es droht schlichtweg der Verlust der Menschlichkeit.
Der Soziologe Harald Welzer warnt in seinem Buch “Die smarte Diktatur“ vor dem Missbrauch der sozialen Medien und der alltäglichen, in allen Bereichen unseres Lebens wirkenden Digitalisierung. BENKA ermahnt mit den Mitteln, die ihm die Malerei bieten und benutzt dabei Begriffe aus der digitalen Welt:
Captchas dienen als Sicherheitsabfrage und bestehen aus zufällig angeordneten Zahlen oder Buchstaben. Mittels captchas lässt sich prüfen, ob ein Mensch oder eine Maschine involviert ist.
Sie sind für Menschen lesbar, für Computer ist dies meist aber unmöglich, da Buchstaben und Zahlen so verzerrt dargestellt werden, dass Systeme sie nicht auslesen können.
Diese captchas deutet BENKA um und wandelt sie zu einem Symbol seines künstlerischen Kampfes.

Born in Abu Dhabi in 1983 from a French mother and an Algerian father, Benka is lucky to have the opportunity to see the world through his family travels from his childhood onwards.
He picks up a multitude of influences from the cultures he came in contact with and was soon faced with discrimination followed by a phase of addiction.
All these experiences will serve to enrich his imagination and his wish to bring about "noise through colors".
After an average high-school curriculum at the "French Lycée" in Vienna (Austria), Benka takes to music as he joins different metal bands as a drummer, and even stars in 2 Albums of the french metal group XTRUNK and in a multitude of concerts throughout Europe.
Benka pursues his music career while studying for his clinical psychology degree and his focus on smartphone addictions, this subject, that he based his thesis on, will inspire him to create a series of Paintings representing aspects of the A.I. and the smartphone addiction problem in our society.
There is a naively beautiful simplicity in Benka's painting far from any theoretical interpretation or other academic dogmas. For him only free association counts.
The finality of these paintings is in listening to others and not in its comprehension.
The colors are talking, the glaze is listening. It is a silent listening through sight.
His paintings present themselves as an open window to the unconscious.
There is something about the encounter, the unknown, the privacy while facing a canvas.
An exclusivity that only belongs to the one who looks at it.
All the rest is only the result of intellectual doctrines, which according to Benka has no place in the artistic milieu.
