Moments in Time, an international online solo mixed media collage exhibition by Linda Farrelly opens on February 10 and will continue through March 15, 2022.
Linda's work explores themes of identity, memory, relationship, and time. Who were we as children, and what parts of that person are still present in adulthood? Can we see the seeds of who we will become? How did our families and our surroundings affect us? What lies behind the images, inside ourselves and others? What did it feel like, and what do we see differently from this present perspective? Her mixed media collages incorporates family photos, pictures she has taken herself, and sometimes found images, along with paint, pencil, ink, and various other materials. Making each collage is like opening a door, walking through, and rearranging the furniture.

Artist:
Linda Farrelly is a multidisciplinary artist living in the Denver metro area. Born in Queens, NY, she grew up running wild in the woods of Long Island. After spending her teenage years in South Florida, Linda attended Atlanta College of Art. She followed her family to Colorado, where she has lived since 1983. Linda lives in the home where she raised her children, which has become more and more art studio than residence as time goes on.
Having lived near the woods, the ocean, and then the mountains, Linda has a strong affinity for nature and the relationships between living things. Much of her work has to do with her family relationships and her relationship with younger versions of herself, exploring who she has been and how she evolved into her current state. When not creating, Linda can often be found dancing with Maroon Bells Morris.
