Tender Moments...The creative joy of a second childhood, an international online solo fiber arts exhibition by Carolyn St Clair Hibbard, opens on October 01 and will continue through October 31, 2022.
Carolyn's needle felted dolls are often inspired by memories of growing up in England, and made with lots of care and love. Looking into those carefully created dolls, it is easy to tell that Carolyn Hibbard has reached her goal which is showing their little woolly heart, and making the viewers smile.

I started needle felting a few months after retiring from a long career in nursing. Little did I know, as I tried my hardest to make that first piece look somehow like an owl, that my life would change so much, and that the joy of creating would simply fill my heart. I realized early on that I loved to create dolls, and that they would become my passion.
My focus is very much that each dolls face reflects their personality...that their little woolly heart shows... It's always very special to me when someone shares that one of my dolls makes them feel happy, and that they remind them of someone they know.
I am often inspired by memories of time spent with my wonderful English grandmothers, and am blessed and occasionally cursed with a very active imagination. So the memory of a little robin hopping into Gran's kitchen, became Augusta and Rhubarb, and Violet dozing in her garden, was remembering watching my Nan fall asleep in her chair, and the very sweet look on her face.
