In Search of Extravaganza, an international online solo mixed media exhibition by Dorsadaf Moinzad opens on July 05, and will continue through August 05, 2022.
Dorsadaf art, a self-taught artist, is bold and vibrantly colored. It is a manidestation of her spontaneous spirit that drives her to express herself through art.
Reviewing her statement provides some clues to her hard-to-miss art: "As a woman growing up in Iran, I felt irrelevant, insignificant, and not seen. When I moved to The States, I always thought: will this deep feeling of being helpless ever end!? Somehow these unconscious thoughts and feelings found a way to flourish through my art. I use lively colors and bold texturing as a form of rebellion in response to my past. I create in such way that it's impossible to miss as a way to explore and process my own emotions. Using different mediums like oil and acrylic, I create vibrant artwork that ranges from naturalistic elements, like florals, to pure abstraction. My work is brightly-colored, boldly sculptural, and joyous to help balance the darker parts of life. My artwork is an invitation to find the beauty in spontaneity and savor the moment we’re in despite the challenges we face."

Artist:
Born in Tehran, Iran, the self-taught artist developed her practice as an avenue of emotional release. Working with a range of mediums and methods, from acrylic to oil and collage to palette knives, Moinzad honed her characteristically colorful and sculptural style rapidly, building a sizable body of work in only a few years.
Moinzad’s journey into art was unique and has shaped the work she now creates. Never having planned to become a painter, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science. Today Moinzad’s art often pulls from her background in mathematics, with strong geometric elements and meticulous patterns. With a prolific and experimental approach to her artistic practice, Moinzad has already had her art exhibited in events such as Pancakes and Booze in Los Angeles.
While continuing to amass an impressive catalog of abstract expressionist works, Moinzad has expanded her practice to offer artwork by commission as well, furthering her mission to bring beauty and joy into a world so often marked by hardship.
