After "Pintura Objeto", show exhibited in 2014, where Cassio Michalany explored the three-dimensionality when performing his paintings in boxes, the artist returns to the Gallery with his latest production. In "Composições Relacionadas", Michalany presents 12 unpublished works specially planned for the main gallery room. Paints vary in stand - fabric and wood -, shapes and color. There are five large screens, six sets of paintings on wood (five multiples of four, one black and white and three multicolored and a multiple of 12 colored), plus a set of six drawings.

In the present series, the painter returns to his production of subtle chromatic compositions, working with sober shades of blue, green, red, mustard, always exploring the juxtaposition and dialogue of homogeneous colored plans, the main marks of his work. For his ensembles, the artist usually establishes a pattern and from it defines the differences. As a result, a set of insightful alternations arise. Colors that are sober if presented alone, when combined, enter into a game of mutual determinations. And it is these variations on a repetitive structure that make sense of Cassio Michalany's paintings.

For the collector José Olympio Pereira, who signs the presentation text of the exhibition, the artist's work reflects his personality - "discreet, introspective, silent, solitary. It's easy to go unnoticed - it does not scream or catch the attention of the viewer. Work is just there. Waiting for someone less rushed and curious to stop in front of him and look closely. " The critic Rodrigo Naves points out how Michalany looks for in his method of work his poetic force: "Perhaps the time has passed when the works of Cassio Michalany could be better understood. What causes him to dwell so long on the same "schema" is precisely the attempt to reverse the serialization that commands our days. His works carry a petition of subtleties: seeing the different days of each other, the hours, the features, the relations, the extensions, and so on. And it seems that we only have the "successively" - sequence without density and time, numerical, points.
