Opening Reception: Mission Russian Art by The Bay

Attend the opening reception of Mission: Russian Art by The Bay.  Showcasing the work of nine contemporary Russian artists from diverse ethnic and geographic backgrounds, working in various media, with a range of artistic influences.  All artists are united by Russian culture and shaped by the California experience. 

The main goal is to show a diversity of ideas and art making techniguqes among contemporary Russian artists in California.  The show includes paintings, etchings, drawings, digital media, and photography.  All of the artists have exhibited their works in solo and group shows around the world, but the last united group exhibition of Russian artists in the Bay Area was in 1936.  Ruth's Table has provided a unqiue opportunity to introduce and share a new slice of the Russian visual culture with a wider Bay Area audience.
