Issue 6 of Artist Portfolio Magazine features international artists from around the world. Many of the artists featured use an unexpected mix of materials, including a young artist from Romania, Andreea Anghel, whose beautiful charcoal drawings are interrupted by tree branches stemming from a range of characters. Anghel says about her work, “through these works I am questioning who and what we perceive as damaged, because apparently it can happen to anyone.” Anghel’s work is on the cover of Artist Portfolio Magazine. Her work was selected out of hundreds of works submitted to be on the cover of Artist Portfolio Magazine. She was also awarded a cash prize of $1500.
Issue 6 was released on April 2nd of 2012 on various sites, including Issuu and Yudu. It’s free to view and free to download. This special issue also features the work of artist, civil engineer and maze illustrator Takanori Aiba. Aiba’s three dimensional works, “combine his knowledge and experience” with his imagination to create amusing models- precise worlds made of bonsai trees and paper that could truly be constructed as life size buildings.
