Fresh Breeze On A Sultry Day, a solo exhibition by Karen Barbour

Opening Reception for the artist on Friday, March 11, from 6 - 8pm

Karen Barbour makes intuitive and vibrant paintings inspired by her daily life.

Giving the viewer an intimate view into her enchanted world.

The exhibition will include small and large scale paintings on canvas and paper.

The imagery is an expressive and surrealist mix of figures and abstractions, fluidly rendered in oil, gouache and collage.

The title of the exhibition "Fresh Breeze On A Sultry Day"  was a phrase the artist’s grandmother would say when she visited. In this series Barbour revisits memories, people, dreams, objects  and places.

Often painting her subjects over and over in order to understand them, experience them and give them value.

Karen Barbour received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and lives in Inverness California.
