To help celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the idea of the creation of the national parks, Partners Gallery is presenting Virginia Sharkey's “The Yosemite Paintings”.
Although as an abstract painter Sharkey rarely ventures into the realm of representation, these large-scale paintings in oil, which recall the 19th century quest for the sublime in landscape, resonate with a similar yearning. Inspired by William Zorach's drawings she had seen many years ago in New York, she sat near the wondrous cascades sketching. Later, in the studio, she composed these paintings, which aim to capture the power and presence of the magnificent falls.
Partners Gallery is located at 335N. Franklin Street in Fort Bragg and is open Wednesday through Monday 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays 10 am to 4 pm.

Partners Gallery in downtown Fort Bragg is the creation of 12 Mendocino Coast artists who administer the gallery and exhibit individual and group shows and well as guest exhibitions and community presentations. We exhibit paintings, mixed media works, sculpture, photography and jewelry.
