Don McCullin is best known for his harrowing pictures capturing conflict, war and famine, the darker sides of humanity… This collection of his prints shows in detail what life was like just a few decades ago, during the Thatcher years..
“You cannot walk down Whitechapel without seeing suffering, drama and misery… There are wars that cities have which i call social wars, and i put just as much energy into showing the misery of what i call social wars.”
These original eleven prints are kindly on loan from the CASS East End Archive as part of the Photomonth festival of Photography in East London.
If you would like to see our exhibitions outside of gallery hours don’t hesitate to eat at the restaurant White Rabbit and have your own private viewing.
