‘We Can’t Live Without Our Lives’ is a 5-day exploration of care as a form of struggle and resistance, with communities who embody it.
How is it that contemporary life leaves us feeling ill and exhausted, uncared for - as if living by a thread? How might we care for each other differently? Can we think of care as a form of survival and resistance? And does thinking about such a socialised form of care require us to expand, challenge or refute the policed norms of ability and sanity, personhood and the body so violently imposed on us all?
We Can’t Live Without Our Lives is a 5-day exploration of these desires and struggles and some practices that embody them, through theatre, film, experimental readings, discussion, workshops and collective investigations.
With Valentina Desideri, Denise Ferreira da Silva, Park McArthur, Laurence Rassel, Howard Slater, Hortense J. Spillers, Terre Thaemlitz, Ueinzz Theatre Company, Constantina Zavitsanos
