ArtPlusHome Launches an Augmented Reality App JUST For the Art World

Romantic or Tragic? The story of a struggling artist can be quite romantic, someone willing to starve for passion. Until of course he actually starves, loses his home, and drowns in debt. The sad truth is there are thousands of struggling artists out there; all amazingly talented and most trying to make ends meet. It's not so much about the lack of skills as it is about the lack of opportunity. "Competition can be steep within the art industry. You have to know the right people. You have to have capital or a patron to secure a gallery space. It's not easy," shared Beth, a street artist. “Usually, one of two things happen to struggling artists. One, they keep on making art until they can't. Or they are forced to give art up. Both scenarios are sad but that's what happens when you're backed up into a wall."  Not so romantic anymore right? More like tragic, really.

Opportunity in Technology

Dary Rees, founder of ArtPlusHome Virtual app Art knows a thing or two about struggling. "I am an artist myself and I know what it feels like to try and get your art out there while making a decent living. And that is the very reason I founded ArtPlusHome, to give fellow artists and galleries all over the world the chance to showcase their talent and artworks. That's the wonderful thing about technology, it levels the playing field." Technology, indeed, is the great equalizer. With the ArtPlusHome virtual app, art no longer has to be constrained within four walls or on a website. And this benefits not only the artists but galleries and the public as well. "It's sad that there is an overwhelming sea of artistic genius that the world doesn't get to see. Now with my new Art Plus Home app, that's no longer the case.” says Rees.

Technology opens the door for artists and as more innovation arises, that door opens wider and wider. One such example is the ArtPlusHome Virtual app. "This will take art to an entire new level. This application will revolutionize the way people view, experience, and buy art," explained Dary, the brains behind the project. The ArtPlusHome Virtual app has a one-of-a-kind feature. It allows the buyers to view art, furniture, or home accessories, and mix them together to see if the ensemble works.

Using state of the art technology, theapplication superimposes hi-resolution photos into the space one is decorating. If they like it they can buy the items then and there. If they don't, they share onFacebook and shop some more. What used to take weeks, even months, is now reduced to minutes! This is great for consumers but how does this benefit the artists and galleries?

"Think of the ArtPlusHome Virtual app as the OkCupid for artists and buyers. With this platform, artists who join our community have a ready audience - people with the intent to purchase. No need to rent a space or spend for marketing," shared Dary. And when a buyer finds the art she wants, she can buy them immediately. Now we have a match made in heaven. The ArtPlusHome app also gives artists features to create profile, post on the newsfeed, visibility on the Art GPS world map and much needed exposure for their masterpieces.

The Art Plus Home application is essential for art gallery owners and can be used in the following situations:

1. You have a client who is traveling or lives in another city, state or continent. How do you show how your art will look in his home?  ArtPlusHome application helps you communicate with those customers by allowing them to see how any image will fit in their wall space and above their sofa, instantly.

2. In your monthly Gallery opening events, you usually have 5-10% art collectors (age 50-60), 10-20% art buyers for their home (mostly women in their 40's), and 60-70% young generation, in their 20's and 30's. They are educated, have money, but come to hang with their friends, drink wine and have no idea how to buy art. How do you turn those 70% visitors into your next art collectors? This is when you use

ArtPlusHome application. Because those kids understand technology, and the app allow them to interact and connect with the art on the wall, without your need to sell them. Once they see how the art looks in their space, and get their peers feedback when posting it on Facebook, they will be able to buy it.

3. Most gallery owners today are also offering Art Consulting services to buyers. This means you need to carry anywhere between 5-20 paintings (or more) to each one of your meetings, and if the customer doesn’t like them, you need to come back with another 5-20 more. How can you make this process easier and lighten your loads? This is when you use Art Plus Home app. On your iPad you can easily show the client how a large collection of art will look on their desired wall, without a need to carry all those heavy paintings.

“As a gallery owner myself, I noticed that the art market is changing and also how people buy art.

I created this technology to solve problems, for galleries and art buyers.  ArtPlusHome application also lets you promote your gallery and art worldwide, and acquire new collectors. We have an exciting opportunity to provide an unprecedented virtual shopping experience that helps buyers make purchase decisions more quickly while strengthening their relationship with your brand. This app is designed specifically to meet the needs of the art world. It is easily operated through your computer and is highly customizable” said Rees.

 Keeping the Passion

We want to build a community where artists and galleries remain passionate about creating art and the public gets to see it because at the end of the day, art was never about the struggle. It was and will always be about the passion.  Dary Rees is currently looking for investors for future expansion and is inviting artists, galleries, designers and manufacturers to connect to the ArtPlusHome global community.
